Terms of Service

1. The software and your license

StarNest is desktop nesting software for CNC plasma cutting. A paid subscription grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use StarNest on one machine (computer) at a time, for as long as your subscription is active. Your license is delivered as a license key bound to a machine ID that you provide. You may move your license to a different computer by updating the machine ID in your account and installing the refreshed license. StarNest verifies your license offline and does not require a constant internet connection.

2. Free trial

StarNest may be downloaded free of charge and includes a 14-day evaluation period. When the trial ends, the software stops functioning until a valid license is applied. The 14-day trial is your opportunity to evaluate the software fully before purchasing. If you need additional time to evaluate StarNest for your needs, email us at max@starlabcnc.com before your trial ends and we will work with you on an extended trial.

3. Subscriptions and billing

StarNest is sold as a subscription, billed monthly ($39) or annually ($300) through our payment processor, Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. Because the free 14-day trial serves as the evaluation period, your first payment is charged when you subscribe. You may cancel at any time from your account dashboard; your subscription, and the license tied to it, remains active until the end of the period you have already paid for.

4. Refund policy

All payments are non-refundable. We do not provide refunds or credits for partial subscription periods, unused time, or for any reason once a payment has been made. The free 14-day trial exists precisely so that you can fully evaluate StarNest at no cost and no risk before paying. If 14 days is not enough time to evaluate the software for your needs, contact us at max@starlabcnc.com before subscribing and we will work with you on an extended trial. By subscribing, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to evaluate the software and that your payment is non-refundable. Cancelling a subscription stops future billing but does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already paid.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• share, resell, sublicense, rent, or distribute your license key;
• use a single license on more than one machine at a time;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to circumvent the licensing or machine-binding of the software, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law;
• use the Service to violate any law or to infringe the rights of others.

6. Generated toolpaths and shop safety

StarNest produces nests, toolpaths, and G-code for CNC plasma cutting equipment. CNC cutting is inherently hazardous. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and testing all nests, toolpaths, and G-code before running them on any machine, and for the safe setup and operation of your equipment. Bulltear is not responsible for material waste, equipment damage, injury, or any other loss arising from the use of output produced by the software.

7. Intellectual property

StarNest and the StarNestPro website, including all software, text, and graphics, are owned by Bulltear Industries Inc. and are protected by intellectual-property law. These Terms grant you a license to use the software; they do not transfer ownership. "StarNest" and "StarNestPro" are marks of Bulltear Industries Inc.

8. Updates

While your subscription is active, you are entitled, at no additional charge, to updates we release for StarNest. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your requirements.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bulltear Industries Inc. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or business, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. On termination, your right to use StarNest ends and your license stops functioning when its current paid term expires.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Minnesota.
